Adventure:

No matter how you define it,
it’s here in the Battenkill Valley, whatever season you visit us.

Here, in the New York county with more historic covered bridges than any other (four), visitors can’t miss the remarkably “gin clear” waters of the Battenkill that flows beneath them. Legendary for its trout fishing, “The Kill” is also a popular playground for bird watchers, canoeists, kayakers, tubers and rope swing enthusiasts.

But you’ll discover more to see, do and love, the closer you look:

Bicyclists have discovered our rolling hills, wide roads and idyllic views and have made The Battenkill-Roubaix the largest and fastest-growing pro-am bicycle race in the entire Northeast!
What else can you do? Hikers can enjoy thousands of acres of preserved land. Boaters, tubers and canoeists float on the Battenkill or one of our lakes. Fishermen cast a line and reel in a trophy. Skiers can slide down a mountain or glide through a forest.
